Microdermabrasion can be done as frequently as weekly or up to every 8 weeks depending on your skin’s tolerance and desired cosmetic effects. Many people choose to start with weekly treatments for 3 sessions, then change to a monthly maintenance regimen.
Microdermabrasion works for all skin types and colors. It is not effective for deeper problems such as scars, stretch marks, wrinkles, or deep acne scars.
Even then, some hair may eventually grow back. While “permanent” laser hair removal is a misnomer, after six to eight treatments, you can expect a marked reduction in hair.
On the day before your treatment, you should shave with a clean, new razor. By shaving, the lasers will be able to locate the follicles.
If you have a tan — either from sun exposure or sunless tanning products — wait until the tan fades completely before undergoing laser hair removal. Some doctors recommend staying out of the sun for up to six weeks before laser hair removal. Avoid plucking, waxing and electrolysis.
The results of IPL do wear off over time. The best ways to prolong the effect are 1. Don’t smoke 2. Stay out of the sun and always use sunscreen when you are in the sun. 3. Use an appropriate exfoliant (discuss with your skin professional) 4. Use an appropriate moisturizer. (Again, get advice from a skin care specialist) 5. Repeat the IPL procedure. Your skin will continue to age, but IPL treatment resets the clock so you look younger longer.
You should see results after one or two treatments. Your provider will be able to predict how many treatments you’ll need for best results.
The sensation during IPL treatment ranges from warmth to something like the sting of a rubber band snapping against your skin.
Unlike laser resurfacing or other skin resurfacing procedures, there is no real downtime with IPL. Your skin may be slightly pink or red right after your treatment, and you may experience mild swelling that should subside in a few days.
Clinical studies suggest that on average, an effective treatment regimen is 3 to 5 sessions spaced about 2 to 4 weeks apart.
During the first 24 hours after a treatment, your skin may feel as though it is sunburned, and it will appear pink or red.
Swelling and redness are the most common side effects of a Fraxel DUAL 1550/1927 treatment. Any swelling is typically minimal and subsides within a day or two, and any redness typically fades within a few days.
Wear sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher, avoid direct sun exposure for at least 3 months after your last treatment, and wear a wide-brimmed hat when you’re in the sun.
The results of treatment are both immediate and progressive. A few days after the treatment, the skin will start to feel softer, look brighter and show more even tone. Results can last for months depending on age, skin condition and how the patient protects the skin.
Your skin will feel softer and have improved tone for a youthful, more radiant glow.
The number of treatments is tailored to your concerns and skincare desires. In recent studies, consumers reported visible improvements after 4-6 treatments, though many patients choose to have routine treatments as part of their overall skin care regimen. Your skin care provider will discuss a personalized treatment regimen with you.
Clear + Brilliant treatments take about 20 minutes or less. The total appointment time will vary.
There is limited downtime associated with Cellfina®. Some patients experience initial soreness and tenderness, but these side effects resolve quickly with time.

Cellfina® is the only FDA-cleared, minimally invasive, one-time procedure clinically proven to improve the appearance of cellulite for at least three years.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport are facial injections that target one of the underlying causes of frown lines and crow’s feet—the repeated muscle contractions from frowning and squinting over the years. These facial injections temporarily reduce muscle activity.
BOTOX® Cosmetic and Dysport are prescription medications that are injected into muscles and used to temporarily improve the look of both moderate to severe crow’s feet lines and frown lines between the eyebrows in adults.
You will be able to go back to work that same day.
You will be very comfortable during your treatment. You’ll even be able to catch up on some TV shows, emails, or work.
You may see results at about the one-month mark, but most patients see results in one to three months.
